Who we are?
We are the independent voice for multicultural and multifaith communities in Victoria.
We work with communities and government to ensure diverse voices help shape decisions, services and opportunities for all Victorians.
We bring together community engagement, policy development and grant delivery to help ensure the voices, experiences and priorities of multicultural and multifaith communities are reflected in government decisions.
We work across Victoria to strengthen inclusion, improve outcomes and support communities to participate fully in social, cultural, economic and civic life.
What we do?
We work with communities, government and organisations across Victoria to:
- represent and advocate for the interests of multicultural and multifaith communities
- listen to and consult with communities about their experiences, priorities and needs
- provide independent advice and recommendations to government
support policies, programs and services that are inclusive and accessible
deliver grants, community programs and events
strengthen community safety and resilience
help drive better outcomes for multicultural and multifaith Victorians across government
provide feedback to community on how their advice has been received and used by government
Our role
Multicultural and Multifaith Victoria acts as a bridge between communities and government.
Through consultation, research and community partnerships, we identify issues affecting multicultural and multifaith Victorians and provide independent advice to government on how services, policies and programs can better meet community needs.
We are committed to ensuring community voices are heard and that people understand how their feedback contributes to government action.

How we are different
Multicultural and Multifaith Victoria brings together functions that were previously delivered separately by the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) and the Department of Premier and Cabinet's Multicultural Affairs Division.
By combining community engagement, policy and grants in one organisation, we can create a stronger connection between community feedback and government action.
In addition, the organisation has strengthened responsibilities and powers to support whole-of-government planning, accountability and reporting on outcomes for multicultural and multifaith communities.
Multicultural Victoria Amendment (Multicultural and Multifaith Victoria) Bill 2026
Multicultural and Multifaith Victoria was established as a statutory body on 1 October 2026, and is now established under the Multicultural Victoria Amendment (Multicultural and Multifaith Victoria) Bill 2026.
It makes changes to the Multicultural Victoria Act 2011 that resets how government listens to, collaborates with and supports Victoria’s multicultural and multifaith communities.
Our people
Multicultural and Multifaith Victoria's leadership team will consist of a Coordinator General and will be supported by two Deputies, one of whom will be from regional Victoria.
