VMC Film Festival tickets on sale

30 April 2018

Join the Commission for a special cinematic experience to celebrate  the everyday stories of multiculturalism at this year’s VMC Film Festival.

Proudly presented by the Commission in partnership with Swinburne University of Technology, the Film Festival will showcase shortlisted entries on the big screen at ACMI, Fed Square, on Thursday 24 May, from 7.30pm. Tickets cost $10 and are now on sale.

Audience members can expect to enjoy these inspiring local films, vote for their favourite film in the People’s Choice Award, and be among the first to find out the winners.

Now in its second year, the VMC Film Festival aims to promote filmmaking as a way to explore multiculturalism, while also supporting both established and emerging filmmakers among multicultural communities across Victoria.

Filmmakers of all levels and ages were invited to use creative and original storytelling to address the theme ‘My generation: stories of everyday multiculturalism’ and asked the question: “At this critical juncture in history, what role do we want multiculturalism to play in our state’s future identity, and how we might get there?”

Documentary-style and fictional narratives told by or about Victorians from all cultural backgrounds have been accepted into the Film Festival. Submissions closed on Sunday 29 April 2018 and will be judged in two categories – under 25s and over 25s.

Don’t miss out! Seats are limited. Find out more about the VMC Film Festival and buy tickets.

The VMC Film Festival is an offshoot of Cultural Diversity Week, and will be held on Thursday 24 May, 2018, from 7.30pm, at ACMI, Fed Square.
