The 19th Australian Baltic Studies Conference will be held on Saturday and Sunday 13-14 October at Little Percy Baxter Lecture theatre at Deakin Uni, Waterfront Campus. There will be book sales, and there are two ATMs in the foyer. The Keynote Speaker will be the noted historian, Professor Sheila Fitzpatrick, prize-winning author of On Stalin's Team and Mischka's War etc. Presenters on Lithuanian topics include: Dr. Gražina Pranauskas, Jura Reilly & Eve Wicks-Puodžiūnaitė & Francesca Jūratė Sasnaitis. Free car parking is available at the Deakin Uni carpark. The two-day conference costs $50 (could be a tax deduction!) which includes the programme, two morning teas and one afternoon tea and a copy of the special Baltic Centenary edition of the conference's literary journal AZURIA, which will be launched on Saturday afternoon. Lunches will be at your own cost at nearby cafés. Saturday night's conference dinner, if you wish to join us, will be at the King George Fish & Grill restaurant nearby, at your own expense. After the Conference we can all wander down the waterfront and have nibblies and drinks.
