The Community Accord continues to be signed by community groups and organisations
To demonstrate their commitment to the principles of the Community Accord which
are outlined in the Multicultural Victoria Act 2004.
The principles of the Accord include the following:
- Respect all ethnic, cultural, religious and linguistic communities;
- Seek opportunities to work together to re-affirm our similarities as human beings and the fundamental principals which unite us as Victorians;
- Advocate for the elimination of racial and religious intolerance; and
- Reject all forms of racial and religious vilification, violence, harassment and unlawful discrimination.
You can download the community Accord below in a variety of languages and hold your own Community Accord signing at your local club or social group.
Has your organisation signed the Community Accord? If so, let us know and we’ll add your organisations name to our growing list of signatories. Simply email info@vmc.vic.gov.au with the name of your organisation, the date you signed the accord and the number of people present.
