The Victorian Interpreter Card is a wallet-sized card that aims to help Victorians with limited English access government services by:

  • helping them request interpreter assistance
  • making it easier for staff to arrange language assistance in the correct language.

The card features the national Interpreter Symbol.

The Interpreter Symbol and Victorian Interpreter Card were officiall launched 24 May 2006.

Where can I get a card?


Interpreter Cards are available from Centrelink and Adult Multicultural Education Services offices and a number of other agencies.

The card comes attached to an information brochure available in 30 languages (including English).

Organisations wishing to distribute the card to their members or clients should contact us.

Find your language


Find your language is a web-based tool that produces customised language posters and charts to help staff working in client contact areas (e.g. reception areas) identify the language or dialect spoken by clients. Find your language was developed by the Victorian Department of Human Services with Language Services Strategy.
