Mental Health in Multicultural Australia project
01 October 2012
01 October 2012
The Mental Health in Multicultural Australia (MHiMA) project aims to provide a national focus for advice and support to providers and governments on mental health and suicide prevention for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
MHiMA is currently establishing two national working groups: a CALD Consumer Working Group and a CALD Carer Working Group. If you have experienced mental illness, are from a CALD background (or care for someone who is from a CALD background), and want to contribute to a national agenda on multicultural mental health, complete an expression of interest form. Applications close on October 19 2012.
Further information, including the application form, can be found here:http://www.mhima.org.au/announcements/mhima-cald-consumer-and-carer-working-groups
In the coming months, MHiMA will also be setting up a larger register of consumers and carers who are from CALD backgrounds (or caring for someone from a CALD background), providing further opportunities for consumers and carers to get involved in MHiMA project activities.
For further information about the Working Groups or other consumer and carer activities within the MHiMA Project, please contact Amy Baker: amy@mhima.org.au or (08) 8302 2643.
