Cleaning recipes from the Cypriot Women's Group

The Cypriot Women’s Group has produced a booklet containing 20 traditional cleaning recipes, passed down over generations between family members from the villages and towns of the European country of Cyprus.

The booklet was developed as a result of the women attending a workshop at the Lalor and Thomastown Senior Citizens Centre, where natural cleaning products such as lemons, vinegar, salt, water, wood ash and red pepper were tested. Each of the women brought along their lifelong skills and knowledge and demonstrated how to clean household items including an oven, a kitchen sink, gold jewellery, a stained tablecloth, a tea towel, silver cutlery, pots and a kettle.
