Anti-hate website launched

21 August 2012

The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission has launched a new campaign against discrimination,  www.antihate.vic.gov.au. The campaign was developed in response to the Reporting Racism survey, which found a need for a place where people could report behaviour that was offensive, and to share tips on how to deal with discrimination.

While much discrimination still happens on the streets, shops or public transport, it’s also increasingly happening online and this campaign aims to give people the tools they need to combat it where it occurs.

The aim of this campaign is to get people, particularly younger people, to think about racism, homophobia and other forms of discrimination, and encourage them to take action. For more information go to www.antihate.vic.gov.au.
