Multifaith Victoria Forum
05 August 2010 (9.30am-3pm)
Melbourne Town Hall, 90/120 Swanston St Walk, Melbourne
The Minister Assisting the Premier on Multicultural Affairs, James Merlino MP and the Victorian Multicultural Commission are hosting a Multifaith Victoria Forum on Thursday 5 August. This is a forum for those interested and engaged in multifaith and interfaith activity to come together to share knowledge, develop practical skills and expand their existing networks. The Forum will be particularly relevant for local government staff and religious and community groups interested in undertaking multifaith activities in the future.
The Forum will showcase Victorian multifaith initiatives and provide an opportunity to reflect and build upon the momentum generated by the Parliament of the World’s Religions, held last December 2009 in Melbourne. It will include keynote speakers, a panel discussion and workshops.
It is also an opportunity to acknowledge the remarkable multifaith/interfaith movement in Victoria and our need to promote further collaborative support which is crucial to social cohesion and community harmony.
