Victoria's Multicultural Awards for Excellence 2011The annual awards program was established in 2004 to recognise and reward the contributions of individuals and organisations that promote the social, economic and cultural benefits of Victoria's multicultural community. The event is hosted by the Governor of Victoria, and is attended by more than 500 members of Victoria’s multicultural and multifaith community. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call (03) 9651 0647 Victorian Refugee Recognition Record (VRRR)The Victorian Refugee Record (VRRR) is an awards program which recognises individuals of a refugee background for their outstanding work in the community. The VRRR has been held annually since 2004, and is organised by the Victorian Multicultural Commission. The VRRR also marks and celebrates Refugee Week (19-25 June) – Previous VRRR recipients have represented many different cultures and age groups, and work in many different fields. All have been selected for the significant contribution they have made towards fostering community harmony. Many recipients dedicate time to voluntary work, either within their own local community, or the community at large. A lot of them have taken on leadership roles within their communities, and provide support to others who are marginalised or disadvantaged. All hold a common commitment to bettering their lives and those around them. The 2011 recipients were recognised at an Awards Ceremony held during Refugee Week. at te Immigration Museum.
