Multicultural Youth views welcome in new census

Australians aged between 15 and 25 years old from a migrant or refugee background have a new opportunity to voice their views.

The Multicultural Youth (MY) Australia census is seeking to understand what young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds value most, and their vision for the future.

Quantitative and qualitative data from the survey will be developed into a report on this first national study of young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.

Coordinated by a national research partnership between nine organisations, known as MY Australia, this research will be used to help policymakers and organisations who work with young people from multicultural communities to develop better policies and programs that improve living standards and opportunities for multicultural youth, and contribute to the social cohesion of Australian society.

The MY Australia survey will be open until 15 October 2017. Find out more on MY Australia’s website or Instagram.
