Government and Civic Leadership Award


The Government and Civic Leadership Award recognises government bodies for major initiatives that have strengthened multiculturalism in their communities.

Previously named the Local Government Award, this category has been expanded to include government departments and agencies as well as local councils. Nominations are invited from government bodies that have made major improvements to meet the needs of their culturally, linguistically and religiously diverse communities.

Selection Criteria

Delivers major improvements or initiatives that:

  • respond to culturally and linguistically diverse communities with enhanced and culturally relevant services
  • promote inclusive participation and engagement of culturally and linguistically diverse communities in the civic life of Victorians, or
  • promote greater communication and access between culturally and linguistically diverse communities and government

Eligibility

Local and state governments and agencies. Self-nominations accepted.


Nominations are now due midnight, Monday 28 August 2017.
