Multicultural Festivals and Events Grants

Please note the Multicultural Festival and Events Grants round closed on 13 April 2012. Applications are now being assessed by the Community Strengthening Team. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in June 2012

Information about the Grants

The Victorian Government aims to promote the social, cultural and economic benefits of cultural diversity to all Victorians.  The Multicultural Festival and Events Grants are designed to encourage the participation of the whole community in celebrating and valuing cultural diversity.

The grants are awarded to encourage cross cultural awareness as well as foster intercultural relationships, community contributions, mutual respect, understanding and community unity

What funding is available?
Grants of up to a maximum of $20,000 can be provided under this program.   The Festival and Events grants category is extremely competitive due to the high volume of applications received.  Grants awarded under this category are generally within the range of $500 to $3,000.

Please note due to the volume of demand for this grant, it is not always possible to award the full amount requested to successful applicants. Applicants who have secured other funding sources and financial partners will be looked upon favourably in the assessment process.
