The Victorian Multicultural Commission’s (VMC) Media Internships Grant Program is now open.
The Commission’s Multicultural Media Internships grant is available to media organisations to support their delivery of work experience, professional development training and leadership programs to aspiring journalists.
Grants will only be made to organisations which have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and are legal bodies by law such as:
- a company registered in Australia under the Corporations Act 2001; or
- an incorporated association under the Victorian Associations Incorporation Act 1981.

Applications for the Unity through Partnerships 2013 and the Multicultural Festival and Event Grants Round One 2012-13 will open in March 2012.
Update on previous grant rounds
Multicultural Senior Citizens Organisational Support Grants closed on 30 September, 2011. Applications are now being assessed by the Community Strengthening Team of OMAC. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications in January 2012.
Applications for Promotoing Harmony, Organisational Support, Buildings and Facilities Improvements, Strengthening Multiculturual Communities and Educational Program Grants closed on December 16, 2011 This was for projects and programs to be conducted in the 2012/13 financial year. Applications are now being assessed by the Community Strengthening Team at OMAC. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in June 2012.
The Major Community Grants Round will open again in October 2012. This will be for projects or programs conducted in the 2013/14 financial year.
Grants through the Multicultural Festival and Events Round Two and Unity through Partnerships Program have been announced. Applicants have been notified by mail.

IMPORTANT In accordance with commitments outlined in the Victorian Liberal Nationals Coalition Plan for a Multicultural Victoria, a number of policy and program functions formerly located within the VMC have been transferred into the new Office of Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship (OMAC) within the Department of Premier and Cabinet. Programs outlined on this page are now administered by OMAC.
